It took me 22 years to get to Disney World. My mom wasn’t big on Mickey. Luckily, my boyfriend’s family was! We went and it was seriously the best vacation I ever went on. This is probably because I am such a little kid at heart. I don’t want to grow up, unless I can be a princess when I get there. I don’t care how ridiculous this sounds, but Disney is like a completely different world. It just feels like magic. I’m so serious. We went again the this year and it was just amazing. I loved and can’t wait to go back again.
Imagine my surprise when a few months ago I read they are making a The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios: Island of Adventure. Could Florida be anymore perfect?! I should move there right now! Harry Potter and princesses forever!
Haha, okay but really. I’m a total Harry Potter geek and I don’t really care what people think about that. I go to midnight releases for the books and movies. I usually end up finding a million things wrong with the movies because “it’s just not how I pictured it” but I still have to go see them. (BTW, Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix = so freaking fierce and perfect!) I cried when I read the last two books. I’ve read each of them a million times and know them in and out. Then I find out they are making a Hogwarts and Forbidden Forest in my new favorite place in world? Good lord, are you trying to take all of my money, Florida?
I read yesterday that is suppose to open around this time next year. William promised he would indulge me and we would go. I will definitely be there in all my geeky glory, wandering around wide eyed, hoping and wishing to be sorted in to Ravenclaw.
I’m pretty sure you are all going to stop reading, because you now know what a nerd I am!!

Jon and I love Disney and all their other parks (Epcot especially) and he is a huge Harry Potter fan so I just know he is going to want to go there! Well, I will too actually, although I usually just make him tell me what happened when he finishes each HB book :)
I share your Harry Potter nerdiness! We are having a movie party later this month when all 5 are released in HD. I’m such a dork, I’m making food from the movie.
My husband doesn’t usually read the books, but I somehow got him to read the whole series. He just finished the last one yesterday. Now I don’t have to worry about dropping any spoilers anymore, it was KILLING ME!
SHUT UP!! I have been dying to go back to Disney World (I haven’t been since I was seven), but now I’m definitely DEFINITELY waiting until The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is open. You/this post just made my entire day. I’m going to be talking about this all weekend.

I am SOOOOO excited for the Harry Potter world!!!
My grandfather promised to take me to Disney World when I was little, but it never happened. I finally went on Spring Break during college.
Cinderella’s Castle is actually modeled off of a real castle in France that Walt Disney visited in the Savoy region of France. My BF worked near there for 6 months and, when I visited him, we went and checked it out. There’s a family living there, so you can only look at it from a distance, but it’s beautiful.
How cool would it be to live in a castle?

Fellow Harry Potter geek, let’s get a group of fabulous other geeks together (look how many of us there are!) and go once it opens. I’m so not kidding. I am almost counting down the days, but that would make me a Super Geek and I’m not ready for that yet.
Ravenclaw is where I want to be too! We would totally be Hogwart’s BFF’s!

OMG SHUT UP! Are you serious? You just made my day. I, too, looooooooooooove Harry Potter and all things about it. I haven’t been to Disney World in YEARS, but knowing that this is going to be there is totally making me put Disney World on my to-do list! And I agree with you, Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix was so good it gave me goosebumpbs! ;)

i also got very very excited when i saw the very first picture at the beginning of this post. i watched all the princess disney movies religiously when i was little. sigh.
i still have never been to disney world (i guess my parents also have a thing against mickey) and visited disneyLAND (no, i want WORLD) when i was 3 or something. my boyfriend thinks i kid when i saw that disney world is on our list of places to visit but oh he so better believe it. this post has made me want to go there even more!
Disneyland doesn’t count. You need the real thing, Damsel. Trust me!! Go to Disney World one day and then do Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Orlando will be your favorite place ever. I swear!

I have yet to go to Disney World and have always wanted to go. I can imagine it’s just as amazing as Disneyland, but just a little bit better. And a Harry Potter park!? I’m not a super fan or anything, but I do love the movies and eventually plan on reading the books. But woo, fun updates!

I didn’t go until I was 20 years old! And then of course, when I moved later that summer, I lost my camera that for some retarded reason still had all of the pictures on it, not my computer. Ugh. Horrible!
Also, it would be so freaking cool if Harry Potter were real. But I’d totally want to be in Gryffindor. :)

I think we may now live in a day where Harry Potter does not equal nerd-dom (word?). I will need to post the extent to which my fanatacism has gone (it’s not fanfic, no worries) but not today.
Also, I cried starting at Book 4 when his parents come out of the wand. I’ve had a small episode during each book since and am at the midnight show of every movie and the midnight opening of every book. And there are always friends to be made at such things- people with a little imagination;)
Oh no! I love Harry Potter. I think the nerdy was more about me wanting to be a princess when I grow up, haha. Florida is the best place ever now. Princesses and Harry Potter!

Yeah. The day I found out about the Harry Potter amusement park, I called my friend. Who was currently in Germany. Long distances calls across the pond are mandatory when talking about Harry Potter. Also, I’m going. To this Harry Potter wonderland that is. And I’m not sure I will want to come home.
I’m basically going to live there once I go. They will have to remove me or something.

I read about HarryLand a few days ago.
We’re travelling through florida a few months before it’s due to open, and I am extremely upset. SO UPSET! Words cannot describe.
Hence… A return trip will have to be made upon HarryLand’s completion.
This is embarrassing but I jumped in my seat. I’m soooo happy. I must go.

it took me FOREVER to jump on the harry potter bandwagon, but i did right around the release of the 4th book, and then i was hooked!!!

Love Disney World! I went when I was nine, then my boyfriend and I just went for a week this summer. We both decided it tied with Italy for best vacation ever! Totally not a nerd. :)

Disney is great. Florida (or at least Orlando), not so much lol. I live here.
And OMG the harry potter at IOA!!! I can’t wait until that opens up. If you come down for that let me know and we could go.
