For the past week my DVD player has been broke and that kind of ruins my schedule of watching Grey’s Anatomy seasons 1-3 every waking second. Seriously. It’s like what I do. There isn’t anything on televison? Pop in Grey’s DVD. Since my DVD player is broke, it’s been throwing me off. It’s too quiet in my room. I usually have something on the tv all the time as background noise, even if I’m not really paying attention. I’m not interested in anything else I have on dvd right now. My cables been jacked too, so for some reason, all I’m getting is fuzzy snow. My DVD player was necessary!
Yesterday I went to the boy’s and SURPRISE! I have a brand new little DVD player now! He’s the best.
Here is where I need help. I need to start watching something else or my Grey’s DVDs will get worn out. That would be pretty pathetic!
Favorite movies and television shows on DVD, please? GO!

How I Met Your Mother. Stat!
Seasons 1-2 are on DVD now.
Also, the American Office, if you don’t already.
And Scrubs.
Oh, Veronica Mars, too.
I think I saw on a comment somewhere you’ve never seen How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days… it’s really good so go rent/buy that!
Other movies I watch when I get bored… Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Wedding Crashers, Knocked Up, Superbad, Grandma’s Boy, Just Like Heaven, Step Up, Hitch, and Sister Act (1 and 2)… if you’re in the mood for something not so happy go for Crash or Ladder 49. Those are my all time favorites.
I would also recommend The Office… b/c it’s like the best TV show EVER if you want to get TV on DVD.
have fun with your new player!
Gilmore Girls, the Office (American), Heroes, Sex and the City. Those shows got me through a horrendous first month without tv, internet, or an apartment. I’d totally watch Veronica Mars…maybe I need to go to Blockbuster today…
I always watch Love Actually, Anastasia, Finding Neverland, or Closer when I’m bored. I think I may watch Finding Neverland today!
Watch “Extras” from HBO, and the first and second season of “Weeds” from Showtime.
Shit it hilarious.
*is.
Shit IS hilarious.
typos suck.
Hi!
“The Girls Next Door” (though they definitely censor the broadcast version, not so much the DVD), “The Office,” and “The OC.” LOVE.
The Wire!!! Seriously?! That show is addicting like no other. Love. It.
House. Go watch House NOW!
Movies there are far too many to name, but if you haven’t seen Waitress yet, go rent it!!
SCRUBS. I watch seasons of Scrubs like it’s my job. Again, this is something I NEED to make a career of.
And Clone High. Bare with me while I explain what Clone High is. It’s a cartoon that was on MTV for one season, from the creators of Scrubs (and Donald Faison -Turk- is the voice of every black character). It is an absurd comedy about cloned historical figures back in present-day high school. The stories revolve around Abe Lincoln, dating Cleopatra, best friends with Ghandi… Joan of Arc is in love with him and Cleopatra is always cheating on him with JFK. Listen to me, this show is HYSTERICAL. If you like the comedy of Scrubs, you’ll like Clone High.
Okay, I’m done writing you a novel.
I thought of another one, lol. I just finished catching up on Entourage… it’s pretty entertaining too. And I second Lacey in the recommendation of House… I <3 that show.
I enjoy buying tv on dvd, but only tv i don’t normally watch. Case in point, I’m currently rewatching Mad About You Season 2. Someday I hope to get the entire series of Scrubs and Sex in the City.
For movies, I typically throw in When Harry Met Sally or Breakfast at Tiffany’s, sometimes Return to Me.
I watched five minutes of Grey’s Anatomy one time on tv, and I thought it was awful (I wish I liked it because I love Katherine Heigl), so I don’t know if my recommendations would be appropriate because we probably don’t have similar tastes.
BUT Arrested Development really is one of the best shows ever. You would like it if you enjoy subtle jokes AND outlandish humour.
My other favourite shows are Friends and Sex and the City. I’ll probably wear those dvds out soon enough.
Oh, so many movies to recommend! I’ll just recommend the Science of Sleep because that was the last excellent movie I watched on dvd.
I got seasons 1&2 of House- awesome.
and I have the entire series of Sex and the City. You can’t get much better than watching those
I have been watching Beverly Hills 90210. It is hilarious to watch the 90s over again.
I’m a big fan of Gilmore Girls. And MASH. And Are You Being Served. Oh, if you haven’t seen Becoming Jane yet, you should! And House, he cracks me up. Oh, Practical Magic and 28 Days are good for movies! Kind of old, though, so you’ve probably already seen them. Sybil is good as well, though harder to find sometimes.
Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Family Ties (or maybe that’s just me), The Bob Newhart Show.
Shall I go on? I have a million of them.
I’d go with Sex and the City on DVD or Weeds. For movies I’d go with Closer, Y Tu Mama Tambien and Flashdance.
I just started watching Heroes last weekend.
It’s way better than I ever thought it would be.
Damn.
I heart the Gilmore Girls.
My movie choices are rather pathetic and 80’s dominated so I will remain quiet on that front.
can’t go wrong w/ sex in the city! if you’ve never watched the entire series in order, you totally should.
haha i said IN the city when it’s totally AND.
typos rule today.
I just got my 90210 season 1 in the mail. Guilty pleasure!
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is another goodie. And Flight of the Conchords.
30 Rock, The Office, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gilmore Girls, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, Scrubs, Lost….I could go on and on and on and on and on…
gilmore girls. sex and the city. the oc.

Psych
Monk
Dexter
(You can check out episodes of Psych and Monk on USA’s website)
And Dexter is just all kinds of wonderful. Check out his website on Showtime for info.
Ooh, TV shows on DVD are my weakness. I’m yet another Gilmore Girls fan (seasons 2 and 3 are my fave). I’m watching Arrested Development as I type this and I’m adoring it. My favorite show of all time is Freaks and Geeks– brillant and hilarious.
Veronica Mars
Gilmore Girls
Alias
30 Rock
How I Met Your Mother
Dexter
Party of Five
Lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just watch a new movie with Amanda Peet and Dermot Mulroney called Griffin and Phoenix. Seriously adorable.
