Spoilers, of course.

Okay, I think we all knew this was coming. Even I did, as much as I didn’t want it to happen. Christian won. I’m really not surprised because the judges were so far up this kid’s ass the whole entire season, plus they kept talking up his age. I’ve always said, as much as I don’t like him, that he is talented. He definitely has a flair for the dramatic which everyone never fails to point out. Wear-ability? Not so much. I think you’d have to be 7 feet tall to pull of all of Christian’s skinny pants outfits. I honestly don’t know how they will end up marketing him and his designs. I’m interested to see when he actually starts cranking out designs to sell what he will come up with.

Let’s talk runway, shall we?

Christian’s first look was a great first look to send down the runway. It really gave you an idea of what was to come and grabbed your attention.

My problem with Christian’s collection was that it was overworked. There were a lot of pieces that could have been great and looked so much better had they not been bulked up and overaccessorized with collars and hats. Yes, it was dramatic but when is it too much? I thought the color palate was bland and monotonous. I know it’s his thing with blacks and beiges and all, but he really could have spiced it up just a tad. I’m not asking for hot pinks and yellows, but maybe some more burgundy and wine colored pieces would have added a little to his collection but still stayed within his range. You can also really see how influenced he is by designers like McQueen and Vivenne Westwood, both of which he worked for previously. Overall, it wasn’t bad. Too much of everything for me.

Now Rami, his collection was very Rami. Fortunately he did not send 12 draped dresses down the runway. His first dress drove me mad because it looked off center.

First off, Rami’s choice of colors? Eh. Yes they are all nice separately, but together? Not so thrilled on that. The teal skirt and jacket? Loved it, totally wearable. I also really liked the details on the pink skirt. I thought the weaving technique Rami used on some looks was interesting. The gown made of vintage lace? I almost died! I’m in love and need one in my life ASAP. Hi Rami, call me. Overall, Rami’s collection was good. I honestly think I would have rather had him win than Christian though. He is more wearable, once he figures out the colors.

Oh, Jillian.

Honestly, I wasn’t in love with her collection. I was kind of expecting a bit more. There were some great things about it and some not so great things. First, I really loved that she brought a different texture into the mix and used knits. I wasn’t so thrilled on her color palate though. What is it with olive green? The first look up there, I loved. The gold dress? Not so much. I really think she should have left the gold dress out of it. It didn’t flow as well and definitely wasn’t as good as the one she made in the Met challenge. Why did she pick ChaCha to walk for her?! Ew. The last look I loved. I LOVE that jacket. I thought it was a great look. I understood where she was going with the collection, but each look was so different that it seemed the collection as a whole wasn’t very cohesive at times.

Out of all three collections alone, in all honesty, I think Rami should have won. I’m surprised that I’m saying that, but yes. Definitely cohesion and wear-ability. Colors were a little off but still, it worked.

Whole show overall, I still say Jillian. She was innovative and bold with her designs. It wasn’t predictable, which is something many of the other designers seemed to fall into as the season progressed. I will be on the lookout for Jillian in the future. I need to own me a Jillian jacket/coat!

Thoughts on tonight’s show? Agree or disagree? Love it or hate it?
