    Jamie, I’m so sorry. The pain of loosing a pet is awful and I consider it one of the great injustices of the world that our pets do not have the same life span as our own. HUGS

    Oh, sweetie. Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things out there, especially because people don’t understand what it is like to grieve for one of your best friends like that.

    This is so awful to hear. The fact that she was yours for so long makes it even harder, but that same fact also means that she was one of those rare lucky puppies with a stable, lifelong, loving companion. Take as much comfort as you can in knowing how wonderful you made her life, and let your other doggies help you through it.

    Most importantly, though, let yourself feel as sad as you need to. Dogs let us experience simple, uncomplicated–and therefore, total–love, so it only makes sense to feel total grief when they leave.
