I love you very much. You are very cute and pink. You let me write anything I want, even when it is whiny and full of complaints. You put up with tons of ridiculously adorable puppy pictures. You have also allowed me to meet so many awesome people and get to know them. You won me Most Likeable in the 20SB blog awards. There is an excess amount of Tyra gifs and you don’t even mind. I feed you, you have good content! Well I guess that could be questionable, depending on who you talk to but still. If people didn’t like you, they wouldn’t come back! You put up with those silly ads over on the right side but really, blog, it’s all for you. Those ads are to keep you looking pretty and staying hosted!
Here we get invited to the Martha Stewart blogging show and we probably won’t be able to go.
Why you ask?
Money, blog. It’s what it all comes down to. Lack of it.
Here I am busting my ass at work and all my money is going to school since I have no help from my parents or loans. It’s all me. Then I find out I got a ticket to this and oh shit, it’s in two weeks!
I can’t pull together money for flight AND hotel. Hotel alone will cost be $500 at least for two nights. Flight will be at least $250.
I don’t have that kind of money. It more than likely won’t happen for us, blog.
Pretty sucky, huh?
Too bad I don’t have some sponsor to send me. You know how companies pretty much throw themselves at some mom bloggers with handfuls of cash, sending them this place and over there and more products than they can carry, just begging for them to take it and write about it? I have just as much say in the blogging community. Twenty somethings want to buy stuff too. We have plenty of spending power but are just overlooked. You don’t see anyone knockin’ on mine or my blog friends’ doors. Maybe one day they will see that us twenty somethings are an untapped market.
Sorry, blog. I doesn’t look like we will be showing off your prettiness in NYC hanging in the Martha audience unless a miracle happens.
Love,
Jamie
P.S. This isn’t us hatin’ on mama bloggers. I love the mommies that blog. My favorites are some!

Aww you poor girl! I think companies would definitely be smart if they started hooking us up with products/parties. I mean, like you said- we have spending power too!
And you definitely deserved the most likeable award, this post proves it!
This, my friend, is a sad, sad story. If I had a million dollars, I would sponsor you…and me too!
awwww that sucks, i’m sorry. 20-somethings deserve sponsors too! like i need someone to sponsor my trip to SE Asia…any takers?? anyone?!
i would totally sponsor you too! and then we could both go on martha. man that would be awesome.
maybe we could ALL sponsor you a little bit! :)
Amen, sister, AMEN!
Someone throw something at me, please! Pretty please! I promise to blog about it. Pinky swear.
I hope your miracle happens
When is this Martha Stewart show you speak of? Because I live in NYC and I have an apartment, and a couch/air mattress/extra room… I might be able to help?
Have you tried looking on Craiglist for folks renting out space in their homes/apartments for short-term visitors? I’ve had remarkable success with this. And there are always the hostels — the Jazz hostels are nice (I stayed at the one on the UWS), and I’ve heard the YMCAs have some decent rooms.
And, oh, the Pod Hotel has $99 a night rooms, too. And plenty of other hotels have cheaper accommodations if you’re willing to share a bathroom.
It can be done! It can! I know it!
You’re totally welcome to my couch if you need it!
I’ll let you borrow Diana so that you can get a mommy sponsorship….If I don’t answer the door when you return her try looking in Mexico…..at any place that serves margaritas…..and has hot Latino bartenders….
I am sad for you. But not so sad because the ads you put up are actually quite pretty and cute. I will click on them to reward your good judgement.
i was going to go to that, i had tickets…unfortunately, for the day, it’s too expensive. Not to mention, i really can’t afford to use anymore vacation days if i want to go north for a week in december…*sigh* so sad.
we can be sad together :(
Your link actually says Marth Stewart blogging show, so I initially assumed there was some strange man named Marth hosting a blogging show somewhere. Silly me.
Anyway, I think the Martha Stewart show should pay you just for gracing them with your extremely likable presence.
Damn. I wish I had the money to sponsor you. And myself.
I hope you get to go!
I’m sure that a blogger will let you stay with them and then there’s not much else to pay for :-)
I wish I would be home so you could stay with me, but I’ll be on your turf! But it seems like you have a lot of great offers, hope you get to take one of them up on it!! :)
oh sorry bud! i wish i could help you out! here’s to someone coming through for you! (i mean, we’d do it if some blogger was heading to see Oprah, right?)
See, if I lived in NYC you could totally come and stay at my place. I hope someone or something comes through for you!!!
Too funny … if it makes you feel better, I registered too, I live near NY and I’m sure I’ll STILL never win tickets.
It is amazing how companies treat mommy bloggers like the media. I love reading 20something blogs and I love reading mommy blogs - but I wouldn’t mind some free stuff either :)
hey you could be in Oz… $3k later!
I hope you do get to go! Come on universe!
This is exactly how I’ve felt about BlogHer. Ever think of staying in a hostel? Just an idea.
I can’t wait until the day when $$-holders discover this untapped market.
In the meantime, you should totally start a little fundraising campaign right here. I’m sure I have a few bucks to spare. =)
Poor JamieLovely, i would sponsor you in a heartbeat (if i had anything that was close to looking like money)
Us 30sb’s don’t have it any easier if we don’t have kiddies
If I had any money spare I’d sponsor you. Don’t know what product I’d be advertising but rest assured, it would be fab.
You never know, maybe someone rich and philanthropic will read this and send you oodles of cash.
martha should be paying for all these shenanigans!
Oh, wish you could have been there my first night in Chicago when Jess and Jenn and I made our master plan for the 20sbs to get the might and power we deserve! (Cone to think of it, what was that plan? I was drinking.)
I know it sounds less than appealing, but other modes of travel? Train, bus? MegaBus to Chicago from St.L is inexpensive and nice and clean, in my experience. Maybe there is something like that…
Sorry, love. I think you are well deserving of a trip to Martha’s blog party, unfortunately, I don’t have the resources to get you there.
I hope you find someone to let you stay with them!
Sad! I hope something works out because that show would be incredible to be a part of. I hate how lack of money causes so many problems.
If it makes you feel any better, a large number of mommy bloggers wonder how mommy bloggers get cool stuff throw at them too. :)
So far, I’ve scored some free organic milk samples for my toddler and I thought that was pretty darn cool. LOL Mostly I just get to “meet” really cool people through my blog. And if I was a corporation, I would totally sponsor you to go! Hope you find a solution!
If I lived even remotely in the vicinity you could have a bed at mine, unfortunately I’m half a world away though, so good luck, hopefully something will crop up.
Aww sweetheart I’m so sorry about the Martha Stewart show. That would have been a great opportunity. Money sucks, we need to find a tree of it.
You’re totally right about the 20-something market for advertising. That’s such a bigger discussion though and we’ll get to it.
I got tickets too and can’t go. Suck.
I’ll give you a dollar each month to put a giant banner linking to my blog at the the top of your blog.
WHAT??
Damn. that pisses me off.
