this might be the greatest invention ever

October 22nd, 2008 at 9:00 am . Posted in amazing things .

I have this thing.

I’m cold all the time. Seriously, all the time. I always have a blanket over me – watching tv, reading, interneting. I complain to boyfriend all the time that my nose is cold and make him feel how cold it is (well, it is!) and pester him with cries of “warm my feets!” and shove my feet under his. Come winter, you will probably find me in stolen boyfriend pajama pants, tee, hoodie with hood up, socks, slippers and a blanket. If it’s extra cold, throw in some leggings up in there.

But it’s super annoying when you have a blanket and have it wrapped around you but then try to read a book or use your computer and your arms get cold. Or just have it over your lap and then the top half of you is cold.

See my predicament?

This is why I need one of these things.

A slanket! A blanket with sleeves, duh.

And obviously, I want to look as cool as those kids. Who wants to have a slanket party?! (what? Who says shit like that?) I’ll bring the hideous sunglasses!

But really, I need one of these in my life but I can’t bring myself to shell out $45 for one.

(Seriously, I want one)

ETA: Slankets for $29 at QVC. omg buy me one!

Wow! I can see myself curled up in this on the couch reading on Sunday afternoons. I wonder how it handles dog hair?

Umm, we need to be friends because I am the EXACT same way. Haha. I could totally use a slanket, but unfortunately, I don’t have $45 to spend on it, either.

I’ve seen those before! But what about your hands? Don’t they get cold? I guess you can’t have everything. I bet you could make one, or if you don’t sew I bet you could enlist someone to make one for you! And you could probably find a way cuter blanket with a cute pattern!

I, like you, am a perpetual ice cube. BF hates me at night b/c I shove my freezing feet between his nice warm legs and he always yells “what’s wrong with you?!” and never seems to take “poor circulation” as an acceptable answer. Meh.

I could get on board with these things. Hm, but are these backless though? B/c I feel like my back could be drafty whilst I am interneting and a chilly back does not for good browsing make!

I have one sort of like this – it is like a sleeping bag with arms. LOVE IT! I am always cold – my hubby makes fun of me and asks if I am really the un-dead since I seem to have no circulation.

I just need footie pajamas! I always get so cold in the night because my pajama pant legs roll up around my knees… and I bet you can’t sleep too well in a slanket.

    Still. Funnie :o )

My friend Audra had one of those! But it was actually more like a fleece sleeping bag with holes for your feet and your hands. So it was like you were encased in a warm blanket! I’m always cold, too, and I’m covered with a blanket as I’m typing this. I should think about investing in one!

So I kinda read this yesterday in my reader and have been waiting until it actually existed before I could comment.
But seriously? I need one!!!! I HATE how my arms are always cold when I’m in a blanket and trying to read or use the laptop etc. etc.
Except those ones look kinda cheesy. Maybe I could get someone on etsy to crochet a wicked-cool one for me? That’d be AWESOME.

Watch — we’ll probably give them to each other for Christmas. Most awesome invention ever!

I want one of those, too. I read this post yesterday night and told my boyfriend about slankets. He told me I was crazy and then tried to fashion one out of my butter yellow egyptian cotton summer blanket. It did not work, thus proving I need one of these.

I will totally come to your slanket party. Don’t forget the bunny-head slippers — the perfect accessory to accompany hideous sunglasses.

I have the same exact problem and my bf HATES it when I shove my feet under him. I definitely need one. Lately I have tried the strategy of having one blanket over my legs and one over my shoulders, but still it just doesn’t work that great.
