I don’t think Chicago has ever seen this much fierceness at once.
Yesterday, Jenn and I met up at the Borders on State Street talked in the cafe area, next to some dudes who were playing music or ring tones out loud on their cellphone. We then grabbed a bite to eat at Pizano’s and sat next to some awesome frat boy dudes, who were drunk and all greened out, talking about how jealous they were of some girl’s stache. Obviously, not Jenn and I because we don’t have mustaches. We also got the evil death glare from our waitress for not just packing up and leaving as soon as we got the check.
Before we knew it four hours had gone by! Jenn’s so much more awesome in real life. Seriously, you guys should be jealous. We talked about everything in the world from BlogHer to tattoos to penguin poop to parades that suck. What? Yes, I’m pretty sure each of those topics were brought up and no, I will no elaborate on it.
Anyway, admire our awesome picture taking skillz and be blinded by the glare of our fierceness…err…glasses.

More adventures of Jenn and Jamie to follow. You can count on that.

From Chicagoist: Part of the shenanigans involved with the Tribune selling Wrigley Field to the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority are renovations to the ballpark, which apparently are going to be so major that even with construction beginning immediately after the regular season ends, the Cubs might have to find a temporary home potentially well into the following season. Cubs Chairman Crane Kenney’s choice for that move? U.S. Cellular Field.
You know what I have to say about that?

That was the view outside my front door. We got hit with snow again. Of course we would, considering the last snow just melted. I am very much ready for spring to get here! I hope the snow doesn’t continue on into March. I do not want crappy weather for my birthday! It’s at the end of March but still! We have seen crappy weather then.

Any of you lovely ladies going? I’m checking things out and maybe, just maybe, will be in attendance!
Last but not least, some puppy love. Don’t worry. The place won’t turn into EdieIsLovely.net! I’m just in love with her and love taking pictures of her every waking second because she is just so cute, I kind of want to explode. Puppy paws!
Because my life is awesome, I woke up this morning with a throat that feels like sandpaper, can’t breathe because I’m so stuffy and my head feels like someone has been hitting it with a hammer repeatedly.
Looks like no meet up for me.
This is stupid.
I woke up at 7:30 this morning to get ready for class, I decided against it because I didn’t want to face the cold. Strangely, it was freezing in my room. I thought nothing of it, that the heat just needed to kick back on and went back to sleep. At 10, I wake up, still freezing in my room, so I go downstairs to check the thermostat. 45 degrees. FORTY FIVE DEGREES. I’m sitting there messing with the thermostat…nothing. I wake up my brother and have him go check the basement thingy…nothing.
45 degrees in my house. My MacBook dashboard says it is 2 degrees outside. No good.
My dad is coming to save the day.
Send me warm vibes until it’s fixed!
This is the first weekend since I have gotten back from Vegas that I have plans to go out! Out out, not just run to the mall or grab something to eat. I’m going out tonight to a club to have drinks and hang out with my cute boyfriend and listen to an awesome dj and have more drinks! I am a little excited. I got back from Vegas a few days before New Years Eve. Seriously, that’s how long it has been since I have been out!
What do YOU have planned for the weekend?
I forgot to bring my camera, otherwise there would be a big picture of the madness that is my city right now. I walked out to my driveway to find my Blazer covered in about 6 inches of snow. Then I had to shovel out part of my driveway because my car wouldn’t budge since the snow was so high. After an excruciating drive up Lake Shore Drive, I got to work and got stuck trying to pull in to the alley to park in the family’s garage. Then I worked my way out and wedged myself into a spot on the street, which will no doubt result in my having to dig myself out again at 7:00PM.
Now if I did not have to work, I wouldn’t mind it so much. I’d probably try to convince boyfriend to go play outside and romp in the snow with me.
Stupid work. Ruining my snow day plans!
Did you guys get any snow today? If it doesn’t snow where you live, can I come visit to get away from the cold?!
Most of you missed the great blog fiasco this weekend. Okay, it really wasn’t a fiasco to anyone but me. I stupidly thought I could update Wordpress on my own, screwed it up, had to delete my whole blog, reinstalled, fortunately had a backup of all entries and comments, lost all my themes and widgets and got everything back up and running. Once I got everything back up, I realized my blog wasn’t coming up on feed readers. For some reason, they were marking all my new entries as old and dating them months back even though they were new.
All that matters is I’m up and running! Should you so choose, you can also subscribe by email now or through a reader, both options are over there on the right. ————–>

On to other matters of the non-bloggy kind. We are having some freakishly spring weather over here in Chicago for the past few days! It’s been in the 50s, kind of wet and rainy and we are having a flash flood warning until tomorrow. It’s a fabulous change from freezing, below-zero temperatures and heavy snow though. Chicago will set me straight soon enough with a drastic change that will leave me scrambling for my parka and ugly boots.
I promise, tomorrow I will have something up about my Las Vegas trip. So far all I gave you was a Coco and Ice T sighting and while I know how much everyone loves Coco, it’s just not that much of an update. I have pictures of cute, cuddly lions! Playing with each other!
This week I only work two days. I’ve worked only one day in the past two weeks with Christmas and my own vacation. It’s made me absolutely slothful. You couldn’t pay me to get out of comfy clothes and do something other than lay around. I’m trying to enjoy my days off while I have them. Next week starts two months of nonstop go go go. I’ll write more about that later though, it’s an entry all in itself.
Shout out to the bizarro Detroit me for the Juno soundtrack! Thanks, ilu!
I’m not a fan of snow. Period. Okay, maybe a little, when it’s light, fluffy and kind of pretty and only sticks around for a short amount of time. Other than that snow, I hate it. In Chicago, it never stays pretty, except while it’s snowing and then only for awhile, because it is just waiting to turn into slushy mush. Kind of like a little bit ago when I got out of the car and stepped in the slush. In some gym shoes. Not boots. Slush in your shoes is not fun.
NOT FUN.
It’s also not fun because you can’t park anywhere. Chicago is ridiculous with parking and street signs. They all should just say: DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT PARKING HERE. EVER. OR ANYWHERE ELSE. EVER. because you will get a ticket or, worse, towed. (knock on wood)
ALSO, NOT FUN.
And finally, my dad works on all those city trucks that clear all the snow of the slushy mushy streets. Automotive electrician or some other title, I don’t know. I also don’t appreciate the city calling my dad into work at 2AM, only to come home at 3PM, every day when snow decides make an appearance.
NOT COOL.
Snow, go away. I don’t appreciate your presence.
(Note to self: go buy some fucking winter boots)
Sorry. I’m cranky. Project Runway recap will come sooner or later.
