Day 2 of my birthday was pretty fantastic, minus some upsetting home news, but I’m not going to take about that now. Lunch at TGI Fridays, 21 which makes me want to go back to Las Vegas NOW, and then out! We went to my favorite spot and I took some of your drink suggestions. I was a wee bit tipsy by the end of the night, just a little. I was, in fact, sending silly messages through Blackberry Messenger. Not drunk texting - tipsy texting! I just coined a new phrase. Tipsy Texting copyright Oh! How Lovely! Anyway, it’s awesome when you know the people who run the bar and they cut your tab down to $30, when you had around 8 people drinking for a few hours.

Yesterday, I got an email from BlogHer telling me I was chosen as one of their volunteers for BlogHer 08. This is awesome because it saves me money on the conference, food and getting drunk at the cocktail parties. Yeah, I’m totally don’t get drunk, but I could if I wanted to! Expect some Tipsy Texting! I’ll be working the registration desk for a few hours one of the days which is fabulous, because I will get to register and meet all kinds of amazing bloggers. Jenn also got chosen as a volunteer and she will be live blogging some sessions at BlogHer! Our San Francisco trip is in full swing. Hotels are booked, Flights are booked. We have gigs. We are so set.

I really love my boyfriend’s family. They are so good to me. I’m over there more than I am at home sometimes, they force food on me, take me on vacations (Disney World! Las Vegas!) and are just all around amazing. We got pizza from a local spot nearby and it was yummy! Boyfriend and I caught up on television, signed up for Netflix and I got presents.

From William I got a fancy smancy pink Blackberry skin for my Pearl and Enchanted. Both things, I wanted in my wish list. We are also going to get tickets for Blue Man Group, because I have never seen it and I am pretty sure that is a crime.

From his parents, I got the most adorable picture frame which will be filled with a photo of Edie and Princess, my two pups, as soon as I get some printed. I also got tickets for Kooza!

Also, I got the most ridiculous looking, brownie ice cream pie thing instead of cake from my favorite ice cream and candy shop, Gayety’s. It looks amazing and the brownie bits I swiped off the top tasted amazing! Unfortunately, we didn’t take it out in time to thaw a bit and it wouldn’t cut. As hard as it was to leave it, we are saving it for another day. Seriously, wait until you see a picture of this thing. You will want to lick your screen.

I couldn’t ask for a better birthday. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend, I know I plan on it.

Drunken debauchery?

Probably not, but definitely drinks and maybe a tiny bit of debauchery thrown in the mix.

This is going to be a quick one before I go to bed.

Tyra decided to make an appearance this episode and teach the girls to express themselves through pain. Menstrual pain, you’ve been choked, forced to watch Tyra act like a freaking idiot for 10 cycles now — all the same thing. Whatever, Anya’s weird looking ass won the posing challenge. Her prize? A nude shoot with Nigel Barker.

*Sidenote: the amount of hits I get asking what Anya’s accent is, is pretty funny. For the record, she is from Hawaii, but is Russian.*

Anyway, for the photo shoot each girl was given a genre of music to portray. Here we go!

…but I don’t care because it is my birthday!!!

Honestly, I’m not really ever too psyched on birthdays. I really don’t want to get older. Really though, this year so far has been a pretty big bummer with all that is going on, but I’m determined to make today a new start. I have lots of incredibly awesome things planned for the rest of the year, so this is kind of the start of it all.

I’m super excited about all that is in store for my three day birthday extravaganza!

Today
First off, today I have to stop by the travel agency to confirm the fabulous trip Jenn and I are going on in July. San Francisco and BlogHer, watch out! Maybe grab lunch or dinner with the boyfriend. I’m kind of feeling like some pasta! Leona’s? YES. Oh and maybe go buy Enchanted! Wrap it all up at boyfriend’s for some cake. Then tv catch up and cuddles with boyfriend.

Friday
21 comes out tomorrow so William and I are going to see that. Vegas! A movie is the closest I will get to Vegas until October, but that is okay. Then get myself all dolled up for a night on the town with friends in my little black dress that went unused in Vegas because I was sick. We got a table and bottle service at my most favorite night time spot in Chicago and a bunch of friends will come out. Hopefully. They better or I will punch them. In the eye. If you are in Chicago and want to come out, I might just tell you where, only if you have a cupcake in hand when you greet me! haha. I also won’t punch you in the eye.

Saturday
First, Edie and I will have puppy class at 11, which will definitely be hard to get to after Friday night. But we will persevere! Then an adventure with Jenn, since our first adventure went smashingly. This time a movie and mini food. Another day of fierceness all around.

And of course, even though it was a few weeks early, my favorite birthday present (to myself) was my little Corgi fluffy pup, Edie. She brightens every day for me and was the best thing I have ever got for myself.

Turning 24 21 doesn’t seem so bad today ;)

 

Those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile, know I use to push my impeccable music taste on my freaders by way of mp3. Well, remember that French music I would obsess over last year? Pretty sure that is what has been on MTV all week. During The Hills? Yup, that was my girl, Yelle.

MTV, when you decide to play music again, call me. I know what’s up.

Since my birthday is Thursday, I am making a wish list. A “things I would buy if money fell into my lap or I found a sugar daddy list”. We all know I have expensive taste - wonderful taste, but expensive. You can tell from my first list, which can be found here.

Since I can’t have one of those yet, I will have to buy one of these to dress up my year old (I’m out of date, people! Out of touch with phone technology!), scraped up Blackberry Pearl. In pink, because I’m obvious like that.

I’m desperately needing a black nice bag. I’m kind of loving the Marc by Marc Jacobs Dr. Q Hillier Hobo.

My newest favorite movie. Enchanted.

A pretty dress. This dress also comes in shades of blue, which is gorgeous but I couldn’t find a picture of. I’d be happy with either though. MbyMJ Meredith dress.

And finally, my number one (which is also on my previous wish list). I seen this bag in Neiman’s right before I went to La Vegas and was practically drooling and had to be dragged away.

I don’t think I have ever met a more selfish person in my entire life. No, really. I think my mother takes the cake.

First, you come out of nowhere and tell my dad you want a divorce, days after Christmas. You acted like everything is fine and perfectly normal, didn’t say anything about it to anyone else and got mad at my dad for telling us. I guess, you must have been trying to keep this divorce a big secret. Maybe wait until the house is up for sale to tell your kids?

You have had this all planned out in your head and the rest of you family is nowhere in that plan.  You leak out little bits of information here and there about your big plan, but fail to include the person who should be included in this, my dad. You say you stayed for us for years, but shouldn’t staying together for the kids be a mutual thing? Obviously, my dad had no clue about this. You two were talking about retirement together not too long ago.

We have a house with no mortgage, but you are making us sell it. You need to get YOUR money. Even though none of the kids want to stay with you and could have a perfectly good house to live in. Why can’t you just move out? Nope, gotta get that cash.

You weave this web of lies. You change you story according to how others react.  “Jamie’s dad..get out”. I ask, “where is my dad going to go?!” You say you never asked him to leave and would never do that. That’s only one of the many things you’ve said, then changed your story because people didn’t react well.

In January, you told me you were going to move out and get an apartment. I’m pretty sure it is almost April and unfortunately, you are still here. My dad is living in the basement. I really doubt that will change until you get your money. Luckily, the housing market is awesome, so we should sell the house quick. Hah.

My brother is the only one talking to you and even he thinks you’re insane. I haven’t spoken to you since you dropped this news. Every new thing you say or do, makes me want to talk to you even less. You would think it would bother you that one of your children doesn’t speak to you, but nope. It’s all about you. What children?

Of course, you are awesome with the timing. Last time, it was Christmas. This time? My birthday. No celebrating Jamie’s birthday because now everyone’s too broke. Damn those lawyer fees.

Oh, here’s a new piece of information you leaked out, but told my brother not to tell anyone — two weeks ago you had some secret surgery to remove a mass from your leg. Who has surgery and doesn’t tell their family? SERIOUSLY.

You’re the most selfish person I have ever known. You’re pushing your children farther and father away and don’t even care. I hope you’re fucking happy, because you have made everyone else miserable.

I hope writing this will help me let some of my anger go. Right now, I’d be perfectly content if I never spoke to you again, but no child should say that about their mother. Maybe one day when you realize how you have been this whole time, we can work on building a relationship again, but for now, I really want nothing to do with you.
