- find somewhere to squeeze me in before Monday for a hair cut, that won’t rape my wallet because I have long hair, even though I only want a little taken off and bangs Found one with fabulous reviews! Urban Lift. Thursday @ 12:15.

- get up the nerve to actually cut said hair

- return two new pairs of shoes to nearest Macy’s because, well, fuck Macy’s. My cute peep toes will be perfect for Vegas.

- sell back books to school and get oh, 1/4 of the $140 I paid for a book I didn’t even use

- make reservation for the boy’s birthday dinner. YAY!

- figure out what to do about the sheerness of my adorable dress (sidenote: dresses were from Urban Outfitters. Even though I hate to admit it, someone asked!)

- upload and print pictures at Walgreens

- figure out what I am packing and pack it (omg I’m leaving a week from tomorrow! soexcited!@!$)

- lose another 5 pounds

- stop biting nails

- tights! buy black tights!

I think that is all. Normal non-list post is below this one!

working hard or hardly working?

I love my job. Seriously, it’s going to suck when I have to get a “real” job when I graduate with a nursing degree (if ever). I mean, I get to color, build towers, shoot hoops on a Little Tikes basket ball hoop, teach the 2 year old to count in Spanish and I get paid for it. Of course, there are days when I’m exhausted from working 11 hours and feel like I am going to scream if I have to hear the Wonder Pet’s screechy voices singing about saving the baby triceratops one more time. But really, I can’t complain too much. Turning the key and hearing the pitter pat of little toddler feet that can’t get to the door fast enough to rush me in and sit me down to show me something or other, is not the worst thing to have when you walk in the door. Two babies who are excited to see me everyday and shower me with hugs and kisses? Can’t beat that.

My job is awesome.

My favorite thing to do at work is read books. I lovelovelove children’s books. Last Christmas, the little guy got Where the Wild Things Are and Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day. Two of my very favorite books. This year he is getting The Giving Tree and baby girl is getting a plushy taggies book because she’s still little and loves to put everything in her mouth, she will love the textures though! Mom and Dad are getting a photo album of pictures I’ve taken while with the kids. This way they have cute photos of the kids and get to see what we do while they are at work. All kids get books though, families I work for, my own family, family friends. I have a little list of essentials.

Help me add to my list.

Do you have a favorite book from when you were a kid?

Can I just say how much I hate snow? We got like a foot this past week and I was stuck shoveling out my stupid, very huge driveway yesterday. My back is aching. My arms are aching. Stupid snow.
Then today I get to work and manage to get myself stuck in my parking spot. That will be a bitch trying to get out of once I leave here.

I HATE SNOW.

Friday, I also managed to lock my keys in my car and, OF COURSE, lost the spare. $40 later I have my keys and a spare made on the spot. It hilarious because I usually check if I have my keys like 3 times before I get out of the car because I am so paranoid about locking them in the car.

It wasn’t snowing at the time, but there was still some on the ground.

Also, Macy’s shipped out each pair of my shoes seperately, charged me one for the both of them AND then decided to charge me AGAIN for only ONE pair of them. I paid for one pair twice? Then I call Macy’s, after 3 times of being on hold for over a half an hour, they tell me how they only charged me for each pair once. THEN I call my bank and they tell me Macy’s made TWO charges not one like they said. Now I am going to have to call Macy’s back and throw a fit on the phone because they are obviously morons.

Marshall Field’s would never do this to me.

I’m blaming it all on the snow.

Snow ruins my life.

home on a Saturday night

It’s snowing like mad outside. I’m stuck at home pretend shopping aka lusting over beautiful things I currently do not have money for. The boy will be djing some random bro frat boy yuppie bar that I refuse to go to, because it is full of douchebags. I’m writing out Christmas cards and watching The Devil Wears Prada for the 37,000th time.

Hey, want to see some dresses I bought for Las Vegas? Of course you do.

Unfortunately, I’m not as leggy and thin, but they will work out quite nicely. Especially, with my ridiculously sexy Chinese Laundry peep toes, as well as the two pairs of shoes I bought earlier this week. A girl’s gotta have options!

I well overdue for a hair cut. I will most likely be getting one this week, if I can gather up the strength to watch them butcher my lovely locks. I want to thank the wonderful Tia for her opinion and tips on a cut. She’s quite the fabulous hair stylist, if you didn’t know.

Also, since Damsel and Nicole were making me look bad, posting all their 100 Things in one sitting, I had to finish mine up!

Oh and last call if you want a Christmas card from me. jamie @ ohhowlovely . net (minus the spaces, duh)

Please bring me: YSL or Prada sunglasses, Louboutin satin pumps or a Miu Miu Small Bow Tote.

New Britney video.

Everyone knows I love this girl and want her to get her shit together. She needs to put some effort in to what she does though, man. Stop half assing things. This video could have been worse, but it could have been a WHOOOLE lot better.

Someone get this girl a stylist, trainer and some decent hair extentions. Please.

Old Britney FTW.

Thoughts?

Do you know what today is?

Why, it is double feature Friday! It is when two movies come out and you can’t decide what to see, so you go see both.

I agree with the comment Brandy left in this entry about how she thinks the dog is going to die. I will probably cry because I’m kind of a baby about those kind of things :( Other than that, it looks really good. I seen the preview forever ago and have been waiting for it to come out.

and

Yesterday my sister, Sara, informed me if she married the guy from Juno, her name would be Sara Cera. Yeaaaah, that is all I am going to say about that.

What are you up to this weekend?

P.S. Trailers for Juno and I Am Legend after the jump!

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a little too obsessed with my hair. It use to come to my shoulers and have a little bit a layers. Until, the day after prom in high school, I hacked it off to about my chin and dyed it reddish orange. More red than orange but still. I had my red hair for awhile, until right before my freshman year of college started and then dyed it this deep burgundy color. I got bangs, kinda flipped it out sometimes and it was still kind of short. There was more than likely a bandanna tied up some way or another in there too. I was one of those kids, whose closet was full of band shirts and low slung Dickie like pants and, yet, it still took me forever to decide what to wear.

Cursive? No, how about Thursday? Okay, Thursday it is. Wait, but which Thursday shirt?

Yeah, I was always on my way to the Metro or the Fireside to see some band or another and acting all pretentious about, um…everything. I was, most definitely, not one of those douchey, obnoxious scene kids with like 500 million buttons, 3 studded belts on every which way and two different color Converse. Oh gosh, just thinking about it cracks me up.

Anyway, back to my hair, not too long after, I started going through a really rough time. A lot was happening and I became borderline obsessive with exercising and food and lost a bunch of weight. I cut my hair even shorter and dyed it black. I guess the black represented the color of my soul or some nonsense. HAHAHA. Totally just kidding, but it was dyed black. I look back on it now and laugh, but it really wasn’t too funny.

It’s been about 4 years since then. I can tell because around the time I started dating the boy, I was practically out of my “funk”. All the color has grown out and I’m my natural light brown color. It’s past the middle of my back with lots of long layers. I get lots of compliments on how pretty my hair is and I love it. I’m very self conscious about other aspects of myself, more than anyone really knows, so it’s nice when others notice something other than my “flaws”. I freak out at the thought of cutting it and it takes me forever to get up the nerve to go to the salon even just for a trim. I’m always afraid someone will mess it up and then what will I have? Confidence doesn’t come as easy to me, but I’m working on it and I’ll get there.

It’s interesting thinking about how much it’s changed in the past 5-6 years and how much I’ve changed. I’ve unknowingly at the time marked each change in my life, with some sort of change to my hair.

Funny.

P.S. From over a year ago. This is all you get since I’m not ready to come out of the blogging closet!

Today I come bearing gifts. Gifts that make you want to dance. These songs are on an iTunes play list of songs I listen to at work. Why are they on there? Because it is full of songs the 2 year old likes to dance to. I try to keep the television to a minimum and whenever he asks for it, I say, “how about music instead?” I always get an enthusiastic, “DANCE! MUSIC JAMIE!”every time.

So with that I have a few of the little guy’s and my favorite songs to dance to at work.

Justice - D.A.N.C.E

MSTRKRFT - Monster Hospital (MSTRKRFT remix, original is by Metric)

Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body

Moving Units - Anyone

Nelly Furtado - Do It

This kid is going to have amazing music taste when he grows up ;]

And how about a little celebrity update? I haven’t done that in a long time. Let’s see:

Jessica Alba = knocked up. Yup, it’s true.

Lily Allen slimmed down and looks fabulous in a photo spread for GQ.

Heidi makes an ass out of herself blasting her song outside of her car and pretending to sing.
