Seriously, people. Black Wednesday. Black Friday. Black Monday. What the hell is with that? I don’t remember ALL of those days being referred to as Black ___day. Of course, today, I get. When did Wednesday and the coming Monday start being called that too? I think it’s only this year I have heard of that.
I am, fortunately, spending today at home, laying in bed with my laptop and not plowing through other shoppers ready to shank someone for the last Sex and the City box set. Trust me, if I were up for the Black Friday insanity, I would shank you for that last Sex and the City box set. $99.00 for that. Dude. Seriously, consider yourself shanked, but I honestly do not have the patience for the lines and the rude people and cranky retail workers.
How do I know they are cranky?
Because I use to be one of those cranky retail workers! I’ve done my share of working retail and hopefully I will never have to do it again. When I was in high school, I worked at a Target. Back at 17, I didn’t have the love and appreciation for Target that I do now. I can’t go into that place without spending minimum of $100! I think it’s like rule that you have to buy at least one thing that you don’t need when you go there. Or in my case 12 things you ‘need’, but in all actuality, you don’t…even though you totally do. I also worked at the GAP flagship on Michigan Avenue for a few months, that was awesome because of the discount. Until, I got fed up with the management and just stopped going right before Christmas. I definitely don’t recommend doing that.
Then a few years ago, I worked at Toys R Us. They were like, ‘Oh Jamie, we love you so much we are sending you to work in the video game section!’ right around November. Obviously, they didn’t really like me or they wouldn’t have sent me to work in HELL just in time for Christmas season. For some reason at Toys R Us, they called it Green Friday, instead of Black Friday. This was probably because you had people practically throwing money at you, begging for that last XBOX. I had people scream until they were blue in the face because we were out of the special edition Halo game. Because duh, they were SPECIAL so obviously the regular edition was just not good enough and I should have saved one for them, even though I don’t know who they are or that they were coming to buy some stupid game. It was a rough day. I ended up doing the closing shift on Green Friday, which sucked because we were open until Midnight and THEN we had to clean up the chaos from the whole day, so I didn’t get out until at least 2AM.
Hopefully, I will never have to work retail again. It’s just not my thing, but working it taught me a lot. I can guarantee you that I will never go in to a store and throw a fit if they are out of what I want. I will say ‘please’ and be polite. I will definitely say ‘thanks’ when they help me out.
You never know what kind of day it has been and a little appreciation means a lot.
Alright, bitches, we had the second episode of Project Runway. Ready for what I have to say? No? Well here it is anyway!
Who was the guest judge this time? Who made Jack freak out like this?

I had read previously that Sarah Jessica Parker would be making an appearance this season, but I definitely did not expect it to be this soon! The first episode was severely lacking in creativity for $50,000 worth of material to design WHATEVER they wanted, so I guess they had to break out the big guns quick. Anyway, SJP has a line at Steve and Barry’s stores nationwide, called Bitten. I have been wanting to go check out this line in person since it was released, but just haven’t had the time to make it out to the nearest Steve and Barry’s. Everything is suppose to be under $20, so I am very curious about the quality of these items. I really don’t think it would be that bad, because Sarah Jessica Parker doesn’t exactly seem like the type of girl to throw her name on just anything. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with SJP. She kind of gets on my nerves, but I adore Sex and the City! Anyone else like that? BTW, Sex and the City COMPLETE series box set is on sale at Best Buy for $99 until Saturday. I’m kind of tempted to buy it but probably won’t. :[

Anyway, back to the show! The designers had to come up with a design that would work with the Bitten line, Sarah Jessica had to choose 7 designers to move forward with their designs and the remaining designers pair up with one of the chosen designers. The catch: the 2 piece outfit had to retail for less than $40. The cost of construction vs the retail cost is vastly different, so the designers were only give $15 to work with at Mood.
Sarah Jessica ends up choosing Rami, Christian, Kit, Victorya, Ricky, Elisa(!!!), and Marion.
Check out final pieces after the jump!

I’m thankful for a lot this year. There’s so much but just to name a few:
- My family. They drive me mad, but they always support me.
- My dad’s health.
- William. He is amazing and I love him so much. He’s my rock. I’m very lucky to have him in my life
- My boyfriend’s family. They are awesome. I love his family, they are so good to me. I love his beagle pup, Kimmy, too!
- My dogs. I love all my dogs, especially MY dog, Princess. She is a tough little thing and has been through a lot this year. I’m thankful she is still with me.
- My job. I have the best job ever, seriously. I work for an amazing family that I love so much. There’s nothing better than going to “work” and having two little babies love on you all day and you get paid to play.
- The internet. No seriously. I’m thankful I have this site as an outlet. I write about ridiculous things and still manage to hold people’s attention. I’m thankful for my readers for participating in my ramblings. I’ve only been writing a little over a month and have received so much love from the blog world. You guys are awesome.
Enjoy today everyone! Don’t eat too much!
Are any of you going to face the madness and try to shop tomorrow?
P.S. Project Runway recap coming soon!
I leave work today at around 6:00 and then it’s a 4 day weekend! PLUS, America’s Next Top Model and the second episode of Project Runway! Could today get any better? I think not.
It’s a rather gloomy day here in Chicago. It’s raining and we are suppose to get some snow this afternoon. Not just any snow though. Definitely not the pretty fluffy nice snow, no, we get rainy snow. Wet mushy gross slush. I’m not looking forward to that at all, especially having to drive home. Driving home in slush along with holiday traffic? NOT FUN. Chicago drivers are idiots, myself excluded, of course. I am a fabulous driver. Others? Not so much.
For those of you traveling, be safe! If you’re not around tomorrow, enjoy your Thanksgiving. Eat a bunch and hopefully not gain an ounce!
For those of you at work or home, here is some youtube:
I went to this party at a club, I didn’t really know anyone, but the boy was dj’ing, so I tagged along. The place was chock full of hipsters. Dirty looking, asymmetrical haired, metallic legging wearing hipsters with big stupid glasses. I can understand trying to be fashion forward, but if all you are doing is going thrift stores and digging around in your parent’s basements for things you wore in the early 90s and looking for the ugliest shit, that is not fashion. That is fucking ugly. This is fucking ugly:

Getting wasted before you go to the club because you are too cheap to actually spend money or going up the bar and asking, “What’s the cheapest beer you have?”, just plain tacky.

The expensive art school education you parents are paying for is going to waste because you are too busy worrying about getting photo blogged when you go out next.

Or even worse, video blogged! You know because there is nothing better to do or more important than documenting each and every single move that party goers make. THAT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
I could totally call out a bunch of shit here in my city right about now, but I am not quite ready to out myself. I kind of like the semi-anonymity I have going for the moment, but I can tell you, the time will come soon. In fact, I’m sure if some people read this, they’d know exactly who I am, but for now, I’ll leave it be.
In due time though.
In due time.

The family I work for set up their Christmas tree this weekend. I’ve been working for them as their nanny for almost a year and a half. I was here last Christmas and their little boy was just over a year old, he really didn’t understand all about Christmas. Today, as soon as I walked in the door, he hurried to show me all of the ornaments and his little dancing penguins and snowmen. He was such a baby last year and now he is this big boy, who is a quick as they come and picks up on absolutely everything! It’s so hard to believe sometimes. He speaks so well, in full complete sentences, knows his ABCs and numbers. He can even count to 10 in Spanish (due to having a fabulous nanny, of course). It’s just amazing to me how big he has got! I love that little boy so much.
When does that holiday feeling hit you? When the radio starts playing All I Want for Christmas is You and all those other Christmas tunes? Or early around Halloween when all the stores start putting out Christmas things? Maybe the first snowfall of the year? Or when you finally pull out the Christmas tree out of storage (fake one, like my family!) or when you head out to find that perfect tree?
I probably should have saved my Wish List post for today, because I have no idea what to write about. Instead you get some cute puppy blog filler.

My boyfriend took this yesterday when we took my baby to the vet. It was taken after they traumatized her by taking blood, so she’s exhausted and falling asleep.
Since I am home feeling sick, when I should be out with my boyfriend, and there is no one to talk to on AIM, since they are all out enjoying their Saturday, I am making a wish list.
Things I Really Want (but most likely will not get anytime soon)
1. Miu Miu bow bag. Could this bag be anymore gorgeous? No, it couldn’t. I’m sorry, Louis, I may have found a new love.

2. Frye boots - Tiff posted these last week and I fell in love. I kind of need them in my life.

3. A ring. I want a ring, it’s the only piece of nice jewelry I am lacking. I am loving these right now: a, b, c, d, e. I especially love the last one. Simple and pretty with a little bit of sparkle.
4. Lanvin boots. I have been lusting over these boots for months. Damn the $860.00 price tag.
5. Marc by Marc Jacobs Turnlock Wallet. Duh, I need a matching Stone wallet for my Stone Faridah bag.

6. Coat. I already have a coat, 2 actually, but I reallyreallyreally love this one.

7. Wristlet/clutch. I need a smaller bag for when I don’t want to lug around my big Marc. Something with some pop would be nice, like this Rose color. Or maybe a maroony/burgundy though, I need to look around.

Entertain me people! It’s 9:15 on a Saturday and I’m bored as hell.
What is on your wish list?
Twice!! By two of my favorite bloggy lovelies. I may as well knock them both out in one entry, don’t you think? Read the rest of this entry »
Marc Jacobs debuted these shoes during fashion week in September, since this blog didn’t exist then, I didn’t write about them. They seemed good for the runway and good for editorials, but I never thought anyone would wear them out!
Parker Posy has obviously proven me wrong.

They look pretty uncomfortable. What do you think?
